Veteran Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda made his most-awaited Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. While the movie failed to impress the audience, it gave the debutants a substantial fan base. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about the disadvantages he faced due to his minimal social media presence and recalled the time when people failed to recognise him.

During an interview with the Film Companion, he shared a hilarious incident from before his debut. He recalled how he was meeting filmmakers to explore his opportunities in the entertainment industry before getting a break with The Archies. Sharing instances where people would fail to recognise him despite being Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, he revealed that it was because he didn’t have social media. Recalling the time a security guard mistook him for being a delivery guy, the Hindustan Times quoted him saying, “I've gone to another office where the security guard was like, ‘Idhar aa, idhar aa (come here).’ He said, ‘Naam likh. package delivery time bata. (Write down your name and the delivery time of package).’ I said I've not come here to deliver the package, I've come here to meet the director. Then he said, ‘Nahi nahi, jhooth mat bol (No, don’t lie).’ This happens quite a lot. The 23-year-old even spoke about how he had an appointment with a filmmaker where he waited for almost 45 minutes. He overheard two people discussing how Agastya hadn’t arrived when he made his presence known. Talking about it, he attributed his lack of recognition to growing up, away from the limelight, in Delhi with his businessman father Nikhil Nanda.

Talking about the Netflix release, it follows the journey of popular fictional characters Archie (played by Agastya), Betty (played by Khushi), Veronica (played by Suhana), Jughead (played by Mihir Ahuja), Reggie (played by Vedang Raina), Ethel (played by Dot) and Dilton (played by Yuvraj Menda). Set in the 1960s, the teenagers navigate romance and friendship in their lives all the while fighting for the future of their town Riverdale.
